Care built on relationships, not transactions.
At River Mill Osteopathic, we believe health is more than treating symptoms — it’s about listening, understanding, and building lasting relationships.

Meet Dr. Joseph McCue
Dr. McCue graduated from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2014. He completed Family Medicine Residency in Columbus, GA and Osteopathic NMM Residency in Bangor, ME. He believes you should have the primary responsibility for decisions about your care, and he is happy to help you make the best decisions for you and your family. Special areas of interest and training include ancestral health; evidence-based childbirth and childhood growth and development; ADHD and the challenge of neurovariance in contemporary environments; the neuropsychiatric roots of trauma and addiction; obesity and metabolic disease in a fractured food environment; medical ethics and healthcare policy.

Osteopathic Philosophy
“To find health should be the object of the doctor. Anyone can find disease.”

The Five Models of Osteopathic Treatment

Respiratory/Circulatory
Aims to normalize respiratory and circulatory components of homeostatic responses to improve nutrient delivery and waste removal
Metabolic/Energetic
Aims to utilize the body’s biochemical processes, cellular functions, and energy consumption to facilitate the homeostatic response
Neurologic
Aims to normalize nervous system function, including somatic and autonomic nerves, to allow for proper communication and restoration of health
Behavioral
Aims to optimize mental, emotional, and spiritual influencers of health to pattern a milieu of nourishing behaviors

What Patients Say
We recently switched from Kennebec Pediatrics to Dr. McCue and we couldn't be happier with this decision! He has far exceeded our expectations in every way. He was able to diagnose our youngest with Lyme when many other doctors couldn't. It was a stressful time as we struggled with getting her to take medicine and keep it down, and Dr. McCue availed himself to us throughout. He responded to text messages at 10 pm. He gave us answers right away. He was a Godsend! My husband and I both cried in appreciation as he came to our aid again and again. His responses were always thorough and kind. During the initial appointments our girls had with him, he took his time in getting to know them and our family. He spoke with our children with respect and kindness. He was playful with them, which they liked. They are usually quite shy with new people, but they were very comfortable with Dr. McCue. He is everything we could want in a doctor for our kids, and more! We are very thankful and appreciative.
